Decided it might be easier to write a quick blog post than try to say too much on twitter!
Okay, so here’s the deal. Ivor and I have decided to organise a little meet up to discuss the state of the world, how to fix it and also to drink a lot of beer. Think of it as saving the world and killing your liver at the same time. We’ve now had a surprisingly good response after announcing at Bettakultcha (even after my presentation), so here goes:
The first meet-up is already planned for Thursday the 22nd of this month (this Thursday), some time in the evening. It’ll be at a pub in Wakefield.
If that goes well and people actually attend then we might do another one. We’ll see how things go – whether we generate some good ideas or get into a fight with some neo-nazis Tories.
Anyway, if you want to get details of either this meet or any subsequent meets, send me your email address. Thursday 22nd September (this Thursday)
8pm, Henry Boons, Westgate, Wakefield – ending whenever we run out of ideas or beer money.
Right next to the train station. Closest train leaves 1945hrs from Leeds, for those going that way.
RSVP by email (dan at danladds.com) or twitter, if you haven’t already – I mean, it’s an open pub, so you don’t have to, but we’d like an idea of numbers!
There is a band on in another room in the pub, but that should not affect us. If we have to move then we’ll arrange this via the old fashioned methods of words over air.
